ROMANS 8:
35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 Just as it is written,“FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG;WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.”37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
You know....God really knows what He's doing.
I've been thinking on these verses all day today. I believe that God's plans and purposes are eternal. He is working through all of this economic turmoil.....shaking all that can be shook. That includes me! There's a shaking going on in my life right now.....really in my family. But I know deep in my heart it'll be fine. Why? Nothing can separate us from the love of God. You either believe it or you don't. That's what I tell myself. You either walk in faith or fear. My thoughts lately have been on the state of our nation and the direction we're heading...as are most people. Regardless of what comes out of D.C........I have to keep my focus centered on God.
My hopes are that the events that are taking place now will cause us (as a nation) to redirect our focus and values toward God. I know that regardless of what happens God's love will never change for us.....but I also know that chastisement comes out of love too.
Revelation 3:
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this: 15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 ‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. 17 ‘Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked, 18 I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19 ‘Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. 20 ‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21 ‘He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 ‘He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”
